THE
LOCATION
Considered
the most beautiful part of Provence, the Luberon's
picturesque towns and beautiful landscape were delightfully captured by writer Peter Mayle, in
his book "A Year In Provence". A few kilometers north
is the stunning town of Gordes with cobbled streets,
interesting shops, restaurants, art galleries, weekly
street market and historic 13th C Chateau. A few kilometers
south is Coustellet famous for it's weekly Marché
Paysanne where farmers bring their wine, cheese, flowers
and fresh produce. A mecca for gourmet cooks. Just a few minutes further on, Antique
lovers have L'Isle-sur-la-Sorgue with it's hundreds
of world class dealers. Avignon, Arles, Aix, St. Remy
and Marseilles are all within an hour's drive, each
an easy one day adventure.
Charming restaurants abound as do vineyards with tasting
rooms. Visit Roman ruins and picturesque street markets,
take in a chamber music concert, listen to jazz or
go to an outdoor opera. Take a hike in the Luberon
national forest, kayak down the rivers, play tennis
and golf or just stay home and swim in the pool
